MORETON BAY UNIVERSITY – LOCAL JOBS & STUDY
The Moreton Bay University Project will deliver thousands of local jobs and will make it easier for students who would otherwise have to travel long distances to go to University. During the election campaign Luke Howarth MP and I announced a $35 million grant to ensure the University project could get under way and to open in 2020. The university is essential to the growth of our region and will provide a high-quality education hub for local students; who currently have to spend hours travelling to pursue a tertiary education. I will continue to work with the Moreton Bay Regional Council to ensure the project is delivered on time. I am fighting for additional funding to deliver the university project.
Dickson Christmas Card Competition
Thank you to all the students who entered my annual Christmas Card Competition. Every year we receive thousands of entries and it’s always hard choosing the winners. We award first, second and third place to students from Prep – Year Three. Last week I visited Joseph from Albany Hills
State School and congratulated him on being the overall winner for Year 2
across Dickson. To celebrate, Joseph’s class will have a pizza party and Joseph
wins a family movie pass. I’ll be visiting the winners from Prep, Year 1 and Year 3 in the coming weeks to congratulate them on their great drawings, which you’ll see on the front of my
2016 Christmas card.
