Get them ready. Give them a go. Get them a job.
That’s the outcome the Turnbull Government’s Youth Jobs PaTH (Prepare, Trial, Hire) Programme will drive for thousands of unemployed young Australians aged between 15 and 24 years.
The Member for Dickson Peter Dutton said the programme would help improve their chances of finding and keeping a job.
“The PaTH programme starts in April and will provide pre-employment training to prepare young people to apply for jobs, internships to provide on the job experience and then financial incentives to secure jobs for young people,” Mr Dutton said.
“The internships will range from four to 12 weeks in duration and a wage subsidy of up to $10,000 is available for businesses to employ new staff.”
Six Registered Training Organisations have been contracted to provide training within the electorate of Dickson.
They are Australian Employment and Training Solutions, Proteus Technologies, The Australian Retailers Association, the Trustee for Designer Life Trust, Look Now, Strategix Training Group and Train Australia.
“The Turnbull Government’s priority is to grow our economy and create jobs. I urge local business owners to take advantage of this programme, to take on extra staff and grow their business,” Mr Dutton said.
“I encourage young people to use the various elements of the programme to assist them in obtaining additional skills and pathways to jobs.”
