More than 60 organisations and businesses will exhibit and provide information sessions at this year’s Dickson Seniors’ Expo. Exhibits will include retirement communities, Seniors’ Social Clubs, travel opportunities, health and wellness and details of Federal, State and Local Government services.
The Expo which will be held over two days on August 30 and 31 at the Strathpine Community Centre is a great opportunity for retirees or those about to retire to access information about activities and services available in the community.
“The Dickson Seniors’ Expo is an excellent opportunity for seniors to find out exactly what is available in our local communities in terms of recreation, clubs and community organisations and services that can assist them,” the Member for Dickson Peter Dutton said.
Based on last year’s success, the Dickson Seniors’ Council expects a record attendance of up to several thousand over the two days.
The Federal Minister for Ageing Ken Wyatt will be the key note speaker at this year’s Expo on Wednesday August 30.
The Turnbull Government is committed to expanding options for older Australians to meet their needs as they age and the Minister is overseeing those changes.
His attendance at the Seniors’ Expo in Strathpine will provide an opportunity for local seniors to hear directly from the Minister.
The Minister will be joined by famed endurance runner, Australia Day Ambassador and motivational speaker Pat Farmer who will be a special guest at this year’s Expo.
