14-22 August is National Science Week and I encourage residents in our community to get involved in a local event where possible.
In 2021 there will be online events, virtual tours and experiences, DIY science and home-based activities held all around Australia. And there are some in-person events planned in line with local pandemic restrictions.
In Dickson and on the northside, these events are being held:

First held in 1997, National Science Week has become one of Australia’s largest festivals. Last year about 1.1 million people participated in more than 1200 events, despite a global pandemic.
National Science Week is proudly supported by the Australian Government; and partners CSIRO, the Australian Science Teachers Association, the ABC and Cosmos magazine.
The Morrison Government invested a record $11.9 billion in science, research and innovation in 2020/21, recognising its importance to Australia’s economy and our future.
