E&OE.
Well, good morning, everyone.
Thank you very much for being here.
I want to say firstly, thank you Governor for your wonderful words and also for your support of this amazing cause and Foundation. You’re always there at the fundraising events and I know that Bruce and Denise appreciate that very much.
I was talking to some school leaders earlier from Daniel’s old school, and it’s wonderful to see the involvement of so many young people here in school uniform or in a red tee-shirt, and the work that you do – to spread an important message, to fundraise and to support the cause – I know means a lot to the Morcombe family. So, thank you very much to all of the local school communities who are involved here.
Most importantly, we are here today to support an amazing family led by Bruce and Denise, who are two of the most amazing human beings you could ever meet: wonderful mum and dad and now grandparents.
For us to be here in a sea of red, I think says to them that this work will always continue, that Daniel will always be remembered.
We don’t know over the last 20 years how many young lives have been saved or how many people have taken a different decision in a discussion that they’ve had with their children or grandchildren that have led to a life-changing event.
To Bruce and Denise, the legacy that you are building, that you’ve created, is something that I know Daniel, I’m sure, as every other Australian, would be incredibly proud.
To have us here with you today, I just want to say thank you both for the amazing work that you do.
On that note, I want to say thank you very much all for being here and have a great walk.
Thank you.
