Internet fraud and scams is a growing problem in our connected world.

Common tools that cyber criminals use are; links that are sent by SMS, video links on social media and emails from unknown contacts that often look legitimate.

Clicking on these links can you leave you open to the theft of your personal information.

All Australians should be on the lookout for suspicious online messages and the Commonwealth Government has tools that can help you avoid becoming a victim of internet scams.

If you are not sure about something you have been sent, it can help to check with a friend, colleague or family member or visit www.staysmartonline.gov.au.
