  • WORK AND HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC AND SLOVENIA COMMENCE
Reciprocal work and holiday visa arrangements between Australia and the Slovak Republic and Australia and Slovenia have commenced this year.

Young people from both the Slovak Republic and Slovenia now have the opportunity to apply to stay and work in Australia. Young Australians will also enjoy the same prospect in either the Slovak Republic or Slovenia.

The Minister for Immigration and Border Protection Peter Dutton welcomed the commencement of the arrangements.

“Young people aged between 18 and 30 have the opportunity to apply for a unique cultural exchange experience, working and holidaying in another country for up to 12 months,” Mr Dutton said.

“These arrangements strengthen the positive relations between our countries and will further build economic and people-to-people links.”

There will be an annual limit of 200 work and holiday visas for Slovak nationals and 200 work and holiday visas for Slovenian nationals.

The Slovak Republic and Slovenia are the latest countries to have a work and holiday visa arrangement with Australia, joining a number of other countries including Argentina, Bangladesh, Chile, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey the United States and Uruguay.
