Federal Member for Dickson Peter Dutton said the Budget announced great measures for small businesses, young people, families and pensioners.
In particular, local not-for-profit organisations and small businesses have received a significant boost in the 2015 Budget.
“The Coalition Government’s new Stronger Communities Programme will provide $45 million to not-for-profit organisations over two years to fund small capital projects in local communities,” Mr Dutton said.
“Our community will receive funding of $150,000 per year over two years, with grants between $1,000 and $20,000 made available to support local projects that deliver social benefits.
“I will be consulting closely with eligible organisations in Dickson to identify high priority projects,” Mr Dutton said.
Local Small Businesses are also set to benefit from the Government’s Growing Jobs and Small Business package. The package includes the lowest small business company tax rate since 1967, and an immediate tax deduction for each and every asset purchase up to $20,000 from last night to 30 June, 2017.
“Small business is a hugely important local employer and the driver of our local economy,”
“The new $5.5 billion Growing Jobs and Small Business package will help small businesses in Dickson invest more, grow more, and employ more,” said Mr Dutton.
“This is the biggest small business initiative in our nation’s history,” he added.
Further information on how to apply for the Dickson Electorate grants will be advertised in the local media and on my website www.peterdutton.com.au in due course. All applications will be considered by a selected panel.
