Get ready, Dickson. Cyclone Marcia is rapidly intensifying. It is now category 3 and expected to reach category 4. Marcia will make landfall in the early hours of tomorrow morning, and is forecast to weaken as it then tracks down the coast. High tides and very heavy rainfall are expected to cause flooding in South East Queensland.
Flooding in the Moreton Bay region is likely. Strong winds are also forecast.
The time to prepare is now. Residents should ensure they have three days' supply of non-perishable food and clean water in sealed containers. Residents should prepare for potential loss of power, including by charging phones and ensuring access to batteries, radios and torches.
