The Hon Peter Dutton MP, Federal Member for Dickson and Shadow Minister for Health and Ageing, and Luke Howarth, Liberal National Party Candidate for Petrie, today reaffirmed their support for the NDIS.
“This is a reform that the Coalition whole-heartedly supports, and only the Coalition can deliver effectively,” said Peter Dutton.
“Taking care of the most vulnerable in our community should be a priority of any government, and that is why we will get this done,” he added.
Luke Howarth said he was proud to be a part of a team that will deliver for disabled Australians.
“Last night’s Budget Reply made it clear to all Australians that the Coalition cares about disability support, and that the Coalition will make sure the scheme is fully funded,” said Mr Howarth.
“We will not let Labor’s trashing of the nation’s finances stand in the way of the people of Petrie getting the support they need,” he added.
Mr Dutton said the Coalition will ensure the NDIS is focused on delivering outcomes, and does not become an ineffective bureaucracy.
“We cannot trust the government to administer such an important scheme properly. They have a track record of delivering bureaucratic quagmires instead of delivering for those in need,” said Mr Dutton.
Mr Dutton and Mr Howarth said they looked forward to the scheme being implemented in their communities.
