The Health Minister is making increasingly hysterical claims reflecting the growing desperation of a beleaguered Government.
Shadow Health Minister Peter Dutton said Minister Plibersek’s claims today were a weak attempt to divert attention from the chaos infecting the Labor Government and her own failings in the health portfolio.
“The Coalition has been very clear on our support for frontline patient services,” Mr Dutton said.
“Contrary to Minister Plibersek’s claims, the Coalition will bolster frontline services by redirecting resources from bureaucratic structures that don’t provide patient care.
“The Coalition continues to strongly support a coordination role for primary care.
“Tanya Plibersek is the Minister who cut $1.6 billion of funding from public hospitals, cut funding to General Practice for after-hours care and immunisations, cut $1 billion from dental health services and is forcing up the costs of private health insurance for millions of Australians.
“The Labor Government’s priorities of cutting frontline services to build bureaucracy are wrong and Minister Plibersek’s frustrations are showing.
“The recent theatrics of Minister Plibersek will not restore confidence in a chaotic Gillard Government,” Mr Dutton said.
